Welcome to the Turkish Business Council Dubai & Northern Emirates March update. February has been another positive and exciting month with our TBC events, Royal visits at Expo 2020 Dubai and patronage by esteemed guests.

Turkish companies have been featured within a special supplement published by Khaleej Times - ‘Khaleej Times Türkiye’ was published on 11th of February and the newspaper special supplement published on 15th February 2022.

H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Türkiye, in close association and coordination with the Directorate of Communications of the Presidential Office Turkey and the Embassy of Türkiye in UAE, published the special supplement to celebrate Türkiye/UAE relations. The Khaleej Times (KT) Magazine’s supplement is distributed to 89K people.

Official Visit of President Recep Tayip Erdogan to UAE

The official visit of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to United Arab Emirates cemented & celebrated relations between the UAE & Turkiye. President Erdogan received a warm welcome by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in his official visits to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. 13 agreements were signed during the visit, including trade, industry, health and medical sciences, land and sea transportation and climate action.

Türkiye - United Arab Emirates Trade Delegation and Roundtable Networking Event

The Turkish Business Council attended the Türkiye - United Arab Emirates Trade Delegation and Roundtable Networking Event, organised by The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) on 14th of February 2022 in Dubai. This was the first TIM in person delegation of the year, with the aim of creating opportunities for new cooperation and bilateral trade between Türkiye and the UAE and increasing trade volumes between the countries.

Turkiye National Day Ceremony at Expo 2020 Dubai

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed Turkish President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan at Expo 2020 Dubai on 15th February 2022. The Turkish flag was raised alongside the National Anthem in the Al Wasl Plaza in honour of the Turkiye National Day Ceremony.

Turkish folk dancing and fashion displays that were dedicated to raising awareness of environmental issues, and honoured Turkish culture and craftsmanship were held at the Turkish Pavillion to commemorate the National Day. The modern folk band performed a concert with an exciting repertoire of exquisite Turkish tunes, which was much enjoyed by the audience.

Cizre Trade Chamber Delegation Hosted at Gulfood

TBC and DMCC hosted Cizre Trade Chamber Delegation during their visit to Gulfood 2022 in Dubai and gave a presentation to more than 20 delegates about the Turkish Business Council (Dubai and Northern Emirates) its mission, activities, and members. The event was held in DMCC Conference Center, our strategic partner with the opening speech and presentation given by Mohammed Al Falasi, Regional Representative of DMCC free zone and the facilities offered.

Gulfood 2022

The Turkish Business Council visited the Gulfood exhibition which attracted F&B professionals from all over the world to Dubai – a hub for international trade and commerce. The exhibition, held between 13-17th February at Dubai World Trade Center pledged to drive innovation across the F&B industry, and is the largest industry event of its kind in the world.

Flagship LCWAIKIKI Store Inauguration

Our distinguished member, Apparel Group brand, LCWAIKIKI inaugurated their flagship store at the new Dubai Hills Mall. Honorary guests H.E. Consul General of Turkey İlker Kilic, and President of the Turkish Business Council, Fatma Nilgün Emrem lead the ribbon cutting ceremony with the Founder and Chairwoman of Apparel Group. The Turkish Business Council wishes them the best of success with their new branch.

Grand Opening of Mahalle

Our distinguished corporate member, Mahalle , held the grand opening of their new store on Sunday 20th of February at Arenco Tower, Shop 9, Dubai Internet City. The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by honorary guests H.E. Consul General of Turkiye İlker Kilic and President of Turkish Business Council Fatma Nilgün Emrem. We wish Mahalle the best of success at their new store.
